Landslide… My go to dancing song for the kids :)

I climbed a mountain and I turned around.
I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills….. till the landslide brought me down.

I love being a parent….

Arizona to New York. 2014.

The idea of driving across America with 3 children in a small camper could sound like heaven or hell based on your point of view.

I consider the opportunity to spend time with them and travel with them a blessing.

I am unsure when I will be in Arizona and have to get to New York again any time soon so I will take the unfortunate chain of events that have placed us in these specific situations and make something magical out of it to the best of my ability.

I took over America in a quick swoop from NY to AZ almost exactly one year ago and here we are again looking at a map of the USA considering where we should go and which places are too good not to stop and see along the way.

The to do list is longer than I could have thought.
I have to get a camper.
I have to get the car ready to tow.
I have to get a route somewhat planned out with some spots along the way.
The children and I have to go through their toys and see which ones we can donate and which ones we will keep.
I am trying to add books to our collection now so we have plenty to do along the way…. but we need a way to store books in the camper.

As soon as it is all packed and ready to go…. then I must start getting rid of furniture and all the extra STUFF we have accumulated living in Arizona for the last 11 months.

Looking for places to park along the way and a couple familiar faces to visit will be the highlights of the trip.

I HOPE that we do not break down as frequently as we did when we left NY…. But then again that Dodge Durango did put up one heck of a fight to get us to Arizona in one piece and all I kept asking it to do was “just get us there”….. 🙂

Emergency fund in place.
Maps ready to go.
Kids have tons of books/activities to keep them occupied.
RV has been checked out and given the mighty blessing from a local friend who saves lives. (haha)

The day we leave will be bittersweet. Terrifying. Exciting. and Exhilarating.

Let’s make the best with what we have.

DO WHAT YOU CAN WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

Let everything else fall into place. And. Enjoy. The. Ride.
