I admit. I’m obsessed with education. Learning. Teaching.

I Always Come Back

I always return to the root of the desire behind wishing I could teach my children and wanting to surround them with educated people….. new encounters….. experiences and adventures…… I find so much happiness when I see them learning new things. I like how proud I feel of even the smallest accomplishments (potty training DS3 this month).

Then I constantly get thrown back into the blog idea but realize I can not commit 100% to this because I will spread myself entirely too thin. It lingers in the back of my mind… (blogging) and I miss it…… so perhaps I’ll try to make it a goal to get back on here at least once a week… updates with progress on the kids different levels…

so this is week 1:
DS1 is on 4th grade words (sight words) (fry’s fifth 100 words)
He is adding #’s up to 25 and adding # sets of 3 up to 20
He is subtracting #’s 20 and less….
He loves to read. He loves dinosaurs. He loves outer space. He loves batman. He loves his DS

DD2 is learning basic Kindergarten words… she’s on the fry’s 1st 100 words… She knows 40 words so far (not bad for half a year of kindergarten I hope)…. She does basic math… adding #’s up to 5

DS3 is potty training and talking more and more. He says anything you tell him to say. Cuddles, hugs, quiet…. He is and will probably always will be my thoughtful, slow to react, introvert.

The ONLY Constant is Change

I can only promise you one thing….

as I tell my kids….

The only thing that you can depend on… is that things change.

Nothing stays the same.

This entire adventure from NY to AZ and new school/new friends/new home/etc…. it’s all a learning experience and in a way I’m unschooling the best that I possibly can given what’s been given to me…. 🙂 In order to keep the far fetched idea/dream alive, I must keep the dream in the forefront of it all… 🙂 🙂 Some days are easier than others.

My goal is to teach my children unschooling/homeschooling and no public schooling except extra fun stuff that they offer…… 🙂 My oldest DS is 1st grade and younger DD who is 4 is now in kindergarten… but I teach at a public school (teenagers) … and am reminded what drives the fire inside me for all of this in the first place.

Maybe all this is just another BRICK in the WALL to help build a foundation to the unschooling that is still yet to come 😉 🙂 SEND us your happy thoughts and we’ll keep chugging on this adventure… 🙂

*Sigh* The business of Education.
